Who would have thought

that being a secretary on a preschool board would be so much work? Between fundraising, advertising and everything else involved it can be a TON of extra work. On the plus side at least I know what's going on behind the scenes.

Dr. Suess Week

It's Dr Suess' birthday soon and Taryn's been doing different odds and ends in her class to get ready to celebrate. There will be a reading night at her school tomorrow night for those who would like to participate.

She came home with her own "Cat In The Hat" type quick story:

If my brother and I were alone in the house we would play barbies. My brother would play with his action figures now. I would play webkinz today. My brother would say, NO! You can not play webkinz now.

Lots of practice this week

Jadyn has a big bowling tournament this weekend. We've got to go to Johnsburg, IL. It's a good 2 hour drive if the weather cooperates, if it doesn't we might leave Saturday and take everyone with us. As it stands now it's just Jadyn and I on a day trip.

Jadyn came in 18th place in her last tourny. I'm hoping this time around she can do a little better. I took her out to practice last night and she'll go back to do some more tomorrow night. She has her league on Saturday and then the tourny on Sunday.

Keep her in your thoughts and wish her luck!

Pretty proud of herself.

Karis decided that the couch wouldn't work for her a couple days ago. While I got up to fill her sippy she grabbed her blanket and stole my chair.

Tooth #4 is gone

Taryn lost her 4th tooth last week. She looks super cute. When she'll cooperate for a picture I'll get one posted. There was only slight dramatics over the possiblility of the tooth pull hurting, but it wasn't too bad. =)

Tired of being cold

We're ready for spring and warmer temps. The freeezing weather, nasty windchills and excess snow are no longer acceptable. =)

11 weeks 5 days

Whoosh Whoosh Whoosh has to be one of the BEST sounds EVER!!!!

The dr. wasn't sure we were going to be able to hear the heartbeat since we were right on the 12 week borderline. Baby proved him wrong though!

I'm feeling really good and have been for the most part to this point. Just a little queasy in the morning because I have to take my thyroid meds before I can eat breakfast and right before bed. Sour preggo pop drops are the best thing invented. They are fantastic for queasy tummies, motion sickness and just upset stomachs in general.

Other One

When you ask Karis for a kiss she'll kiss your cheek.

She'll then say: "Other one?"

Then you have to turn your face so she can kiss the other cheek.

Should you refuse (jokingly) she'll move your head so that she can get to the other side.

It's cute to watch and she happens to give the best 2 year old kisses ever.

Baby Boy, Baby Girl

A couple weeks ago Brennan and I were having quite the conversation. I asked him if we were going to have a baby girl or a baby boy? He told me we were going to have 2 babies. I was going to have a baby girl and HE was going to have a baby boy. =) I had to ask him where the babies were at and he told me in our belly buttons.

When asked why I couldn't have the baby boy and he couldn't have the baby girl, he told me I was a girl and had to have a baby girl and he was BOY so he had to have a baby boy.

Every few days I'll ask him the same question and we have almost the same exact coversation. Though sometimes he decides to have a girl and let's me have the boy.

You've got to love the Hat!

Are we DONE yet?

Yesterday Kolin was home from work sick, I woke up to Karis once again puking on the bed right next to me. ICK ICK ICK! At this point I'd really have no problem running away to the Bahamas by myself for a couple of weeks. Kolin's back at work today and Karis is looking and feeling fine. I'm sincerely hoping that the worst is over, but I'm not going to hold my breath on that one.

On a better note: Jadyn, Taryn and Brennnan had their Valentine's Day parties yesterday morning and had lots of fun. =)

Will it never end?

I got a call from Jadyn's school yesterday morning letting me know that she had lost her breakfast in the nurses office. Needless to say I called Kolin to pick her up. She spent the rest of the day in her room resting and being bored out of her mind.

I think Karis is finally better. She slept most of the day away yesterday. She pretty much was only awake for maybe 4-4 1/2 hours. This morning though she's back to her chipper, fun cuddling self.

Not sure what today will bring. I've got 3 of them home today. Hopefully Brennan and Taryn don't catch the nasty bug. For that matter Kolin and I would like it to pass by us as well.

Nothing like a warm house...

Furnance is back up and running and running and running......

We've had heat most of the day. The repair guy got here about 10:30am. Thank Goodness!

And when you think it can't get any worse...

We all crashed for the night. The kids were exhausted from a long and crazy day so all 4 went down pretty easy. 11:42 I wake up to Kolin telling me that Karis was puking....definitely not something I wanted to hear with the day we'd already had.

After puking all over the bed, Kolin threw her into the tub and I ran downstairs for new bedding and a bag to throw the icky bedding in. Realized when I got back up to the room that they gave me the wrong size bedding and made by way back downstairs while listening to my little girl scream at her daddy: I DONE! I DONE!

Got the bed made back up and Karis in clean jammies. Ever 45-90 minutes for the rest of the night we was up puking again. I hope to the high Heavens that no one else catches this. She ended up sleeping in a bit, woke up and puked again. Now 2 hours later she's not hungry, but thirsty and NOT puking.

Wish us luck that were back home today with a warm house and no more sick little ones.

Baby it's cold outside..and inside too.

Crazy I tell ya! We woke up to go to church yesterday morning and the house was 64 degrees. Not cold to some, but definitely cold to us. I've got a hold on the thermistat so it never should have gotten that cold in the first place....of course on one of the coldest days we could have -29 with the windchill our furnance decides to go out.

It was a day of unfortunate events. I couldn't get ahold of our landlord (she got back to us this morning and the repair guy is on his way to the house) and of course the house is getting colder and colder. Kolin took the older 3 to church and I stayed home with Karis hoping for a return call that didn't happen. We were invited over for lunch at a friend's parents house and really enjoyed ourselves. Came home for a little while, the little ones were able to take a nap since they each have small space heaters in their rooms and then took them bowling with us.

We ended up at a hotel for the night. The kids love going to any and all hotels so they thought it was a huge treat, especially on a school night. Kolin left one more message for our landlord, tried calling a couple of repairs shops with no answer and we were off to bed.

Jadyn's Young Authors Story

The Kidnapped Princess and Queen

By Jadyn

Once upon a time there was a princess and queen. They shared a bedroom and toys. But one day when they were asleep a couple of bad guys came and kidnapped them. They were scared and yelled for help. Then teh bad guys said the magiv word to open the castle door. The bad guys tied them to the chairs in the dunegon. The princess and queen were scared becasue they thought the bad guys would boil them in hot lava or put magic spells on them that would last forever.

Back at the castile the king noticed that the queen and princess were gone. He and the knights went to find them. They were finally found by the lava rock. The king and knights battled the bad guys. They battled all afternoon. The bad guys are dead.

The king and knights untied the princess and queen. The princess fell in love with one of the knights bcause he was strong and saved her from the bad guys. The princess and knight got married and lived happily ever after.

The End.

Karis' Snowman

Brennan Artwork

I think Brennan is finally liking craft time at school. In the beginning of the year he wanted nothing to do with any types of crafts. Now we're getting more and more coming home and I'm lovin' it.

Snow Snow...everywhere I looks there's Snow

We got about 12 inches of snow yesterday. It just kept coming and coming with no stopping in sight for the most part. The kids didn't go out to play...it was too late when the snow finally stopped. I did take some pictures of the trees in our backyard.

A friend turned me on to a great blog a while back. Tonight I'm making the pioneer woman's Pot Roast and mashed potatoes. The roast already smells fabulous and I can't wait to make the potatoes.

Snow Snow & More Snow

We got dumped on again last night. It seems that we get to the point that we have no snow left (which means no snow boots, snow pants, etc) and we get dumped on again.

Spring can't come fast enough.
