And the verdict is....
Taryn and I were up bright and early this morning to head up to Rockford for her sleep deprived EEG. We made it to her appointment with a little time to spare and found the building where we needed to go without any problems. Taryn handled the EEG like a champ. No whining or crying whatsoever! She did great.
As soon as we were done we headed over to see her neurologist. Patty walked in and told us that her EEG came back NORMAL!!!!!!! At first I wasn't sure I heard it right and had to ask her to repeat herself.
The diagnosis is bittersweet. I'm thrilled that Taryn doesn't have to take any medication, but at the same time it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if Kolin and I watch her like a hawk. I can't wait to see if we notice any difference long term not being on any meds. She's been on something since she was a little over 18 months and at 9 1/2 years old, it's definitely time!

It's all about
South Dakota!
Taryn's first states project is due today. She has to do a presentation and tell her class about different interesting facts, along with the state bird, tree, capitol, insect, etc. We added pictures from our Spring Break trip.
She has a simple machines project due next week. She and Kolin need to invent a simple machine and then take it to school and show her class how it works. The week of the 7th she is the celebrity of the week and we have to do another poster board presentation. On Friday, the 11th she has to have a special speaker come in and talk about something...anything for 20-25 minutes. We haven't quite figured out who that will be, but we do have some ideas.
Either the middle or end of March her second states project is due. Taryn decided to do Oregon for that one. Once again we'll be able to add pictures from our trip and add a bunch of interesting facts. Who knows what else her teacher will come up with to add to the mix between now and then.

Last Day!
Today is the last day for Taryn's meds.
Next week she has her sleep deprived EEG. We're going to do things a little differently this time around. Instead of having the test done closer to home and waiting a week to get the results, we're going to drive up to Rockford and have the test done and meet with the doctor right afterward for the results.
I'm being optimistic and pessimistic all at the same time. As much as I want the EEG to come back normal I don't want to get my hopes up so high to have them come crashing down again if the results aren't what we want them to be.
