Poor Chief!

I took Chief into the vet yesterday morning to get neutered. The little girls went with me. Karis figured he was getting a couple shots or something and would be coming home with us. (My fault for not telling her beforehand.) As soon as the tech picked Chief up and started walking in back with him Karis started SCREAMING!!!!!

"Give me my puppy back!!!!" Over and over and over again..... She did not want to leave and I pretty much had to drag her out while explaining that we'd be picking up her puppy bright and early the next morning. She pretty much preceded to scream at me the entire ride home.

This morning when we picked him up. The vet tech and I were going over all the care instructions etc. Karis kept trying to hand her Chief's collar and leash and asking her ever so nicely to please go get her puppy. =)

Chief was thrilled to see us....but a tad mopey. I'd be mopey too if I had this on my head.

Phone number

We've been working with Brennan on learning our home phone number. He can do the area code, but after that he doesn't have much interest.

Tonight we had the following conversation....

Me: Brennan, What is your phone number?

Brennnan: Yours!

Cheerleading!

All the girls are still enjoying themselves and having lots of fun at practice and during the games.

Picture Day!

Today is picture day for Taryn and Brennan. I volunteered to help out at Brennan's school. I found out a couple of days ago that if you help out you get your pictures FREE! That saved me $30 right then and there!

I don't know why picture day is just a stressful one for me. I just want the pictures to turn out great and show off their personality. A couple of years ago both sets of pictures came back and they were awful. Retakes came around and we tried again only to have them come back worse. OOPS! Guess I should have kept that 1st set for each of them.

After Brennan had his pictures done, the photographer had me come over and pick out which one I liked best. I thought that was really nice of her.

Jadyn had her pictures taken the week after school started. They came back and are great! Now to wait to actually get the other 2 back. Karis and Ryanne will get their pictures taken in November at the preschool.

2 sisters

Jell-O Apples

Jell-O Apples

1 small box sugar free jell-O (any flavor you like)
5-6 apples (slightly tarter apples seem to work better)

Core, Peel, Slice apples
Throw into a container that has a lid
Sprinkle sugar free jell-O over apples
Mix together

You can eat them right away, but they are even better a few hours later or the next day.

Everyone here loves them. They are a great 'treat.'

Over heard in church this morning

"After church we're going to go home and clean the house."

"Can't do it. I'll be reading my bible...."

Bible Sunday

Today was the day that all the new third graders received bibles.
It's an exciting morning for the kids.

It's amazing to me

just how busy we get once the kids are all back in school. The summer was busy, but pretty low key. Since school started we've been on the run constantly. One needs to be dropped off, and the next and the next and then pick-ups begin. It's just nuts!

Jadyn is really enjoying cheerleading. She's already decided that she'll do it again next year. (She'll have to try out, but all of them usually make the squad at the 6th grade level.)

Taryn is keeping busy socializing and she's figured out how to skip bars on the monkey bars at school.

Brennan is loving kindergarten. He gets his clothes ready every night and can't wait to leave in the morning to start his day.

Karis started back to preschool last week. She enjoys going and once she gets the routine down again she'll be more comfortable. She loves our swings in the backyard and can get herself going pretty high with no help.

Ryanne is growing up way too fast. Not walking yet, which is just fine with me. She is taking a couple steps here and there along the couch. She's figured out the game of peek a boo and will play it with us for quite a while. She hides herself and pops back out with a huge smile for the one who is playing with her. .

Did you know?

If you are looking for a quick snack all you have to do is checkout the seat of your highchair. You'll be sure to find stray cheerio's and other goodies.

Of course you have to make sure you beat the puppy to the highchair first!

12 month well baby visit...Part 2

Let's try this again....

Ryanne's well baby appointment was bright and early this morning.

Weight: 20lbs 11 1/2 oz
Height: 30 inches long
Head Circumference: 45 cm

She ended the appointment with 3 shots and she was less than happy after shot #2. Shot #3 really ticked her off. Giving her Tylenol before her shots always helps.

After the appointment we went and saw daddy at work for a couple of minutes and then headed home to pick Karis up from preschool.

I think I can safely say....

Karis is completely potty trained! YAHOO!!!!!!!!!

(Now that I've actually typed this out she'll end up changing her mind or something)

More cake & cupcakes

I had so much fun making Ryanne's rainbow cake that I offered to make a friend of Brennan's birthday cake and cupcakes for his party this weekend.

Gavin went with a starwars theme...so I had a little fun with the cake. We went with black, light green, blue and orange. I did the same colors for the cupcakes as well.

Manual Labor....

Well baby turned sick baby visit

Ryanne was scheduled for her 12 month well baby visit this morning. I was pretty sure that it would turn into a sick baby visit and I was right. She's had a cold that just won't go away and having 3 molars coming in at the same time hasn't helped either. Her well baby was rescheduled and she didn't have to get her 12 months shots today which is a definite blessing.
