22 Months & Counting!

Taryn had her neuro check-up bright and early this morning. Weighing in at a whooping 39.3lbs and she's 4'1". She's grown almost an inch since our last visit. I think it's all in her legs. =)

We've got 2 more months to go to get to the 24 month seizure free mark. I flat out told the dr. that the thought of weaning Taryn off her meds frightens me hardcore. I can see myself and Kolin constantly in a stand still waiting to see if she's going to have a seizure without her meds.

We've decided to schedule a sleep deprived EEG (oh how I LOVE these)in October. If it comes back normal then we'll start the med weaning process. It should take about 7 weeks. After the weaning is complete she'll have another sleep deprived EEG and as long as it's normal were good to go.

We will have a fast acting anti-seizure med on us should she have a seizure once she's weaned. If the need arises and we need to use it we'll have it and then she'd be put back on her regular meds.

The dr. did tell me that at her age it's a great time to wean her. We don't have to worry about driver's ed and everything driving entails. We've got another 8 years before we have to worry about those types of things.

I'm so excited for Taryn...she's been on these meds since she was 18 months old. She usually is the one telling Kolin and I that she needs her meds, did we make sure to get them flavored?, etc. It'll be great to tell her she doesn't have to take them anymore.

My fingers are crossed that we can make it a few more months.......

UGH!

While at Taryn's neuro appt this morning I was taking some pictures of her like I do every time. After the dr. came in I went to show her new pictures of the baby and somehow 10 days worth the pictures were deleted in a matter of minutes. How? I haven't got a clue! Deleting pictures is a 3 step process with this particular camera and I've never had this happen.

Kolin is in the process of trying to see if he can save what's been lost. My fingers are crossed.

Our first set of staples goes to.........

Taryn Renee!!!!!

Taryn and Brennan were playing outside. They came in and told me that the 4 year old neighbor boy had thrown rocks at them. Brennan got hit in the shoulder and was fine. Taryn told me that her head hurt and I started to check it out and immediately saw blood. All I kept thinking was why 'this' child and WHY her head????

I called Kolin and told him that I needed him to come home NOW! I then called the dr's office who told me I'd have to go to the ER because no one was in the office at that time to do stitches or staples.

She ended up with 2 staples. No crying or whining. She was a trooper! The dr. was great and told Taryn everything she was going to do and I think that really helped a lot.

The hardest part for me was that I had to go tell the parents what happened and I hadn't even met them yet. It pretty much went like this: "Hi, My name's Leslie, nice to meet you. Just wanted to let you know that Taryn is more than likely going to need stitches/staples in the back of her head due to Payton throwing a rock at her. " Thud.gif Thud.gif YIKES!

Payton came over and apologized once we got home and brought Taryn a few gifts. All in all it was all handled really well by all parties and I hope that the kids will continue and play.

(The rocks have since been picked up from recent landscaping.....)

Pulling Up!

Ryanne decided that today would be the day to pull herself up. Not once, but twice...in two different spots. YIKES! I am so not ready for this.

School Supply Lists

The older 3 start school in just under a month. Karis won't start preschool until after Labor Day. We will have 4 kids in 4 different schools this year. It honestly just boggles my mind, especially when I try to figure the logistics of it all.

School supply lists aren't in the stores yet. It's just a matter of time since all the supplies are on the shelves. I was able to get the supply lists for the older 3 online earlier today. The sheer amount of stuff that needs to be bought is just crazy. Some of the items on the list can be re-used from what we had at the end of school, but for most of it I'll be looking for some great deals.

You put that where?

Almost 10 and what does Jadyn decide to do. For some unknown reason she thought it would be a great idea to put some modeling clay that she had in her ear. What she didn't think about is that it would eventually get STUCK in her hair and I was going to have to CUT it out.

I really should have gotten a picture with it all still in her hair...but didn't think about a picture until afterwards.

Bye-Bye!

Except for the first couple of nights in the house when we've moved in Karis hasn't asked for her suckie (pacifier) at all. We decided to throw the 2 we had in a drawer and see what happened. She didn't ask for them and we didn't offer. Yesterday, I opened up the drawer and saw this one and deemed it time to throw them out.

I'm not sure what it was that made her decide she didn't need them anymore, but I'm so happy she finally gave it up.

Might be time to hide it

"Mama, can I get in the exersaucer?"
"No, Karis"
"Please, mama?"
"Karis Alyse, you are 3 1/2 years old. You don't need to get in the exersaucer."
"But I'll look really cute!"

A crawling baby....

Until tomorrow....

Kolin is out of town at until tomorrow. All of us (especially me) really look forward to him coming home every night. =)

On the few and far between nights when he's away or is working past the little people bedtime I get the continuous questions asking "When is daddy coming home?" "Can we call daddy?" "Daddy will be home in the morning when I wake up...right?" Karis will even pipe in and ask if she can text him. It can make for a really long day when you are answering the same questions over and over again.

Tonight is the first night in the new house without him here. I'm sure a little puppy will probably wake up way too early and need to go out.

I can't wait for him to get home. I love having backup!

Let the fun begin!

Miss Ryanne decided that tonight would be the time to start crawling!
