Tonight was parents night at the middle school. We're still pretty much in denial that Jadyn will be in middle school next year. It just doesn't seem like she is going to be 10 in just a couple of short months. I really wish that 5th & 6th grade were at one of the elementary school...especially 5th.
Parents Night went really well. We were introduced to the principal/vice principal and other faculty. Found out some of the rules that don't pertain to the other schools and discovered that she'll have minimal contact with the 7th/8th graders which is really nice.
I have no doubt that the first couple weeks/months are going to be overwhelming for for all of us, especially Jadyn.

1st Ear Infection
Ryanne hasn't been feeling too hot the last couple of days. What started out as a cold turned into a very sad and unhappy baby and a trip to the dr. She was diagnosed with her first ear infection. We picked up her prescription and I'm hoping she'll be feeling better in no time.
She did weigh in at a whopping 18lbs!

Bowling Free....
Except for the bowling banquet next Saturday, we are a weekend free bowling family until October. It's much easier to plan things when you don't have to plan everything around the kids bowling from 9am-12:30pm every Saturday.

Cheerleading......
Jadyn tried out for the 5th grade cheerleading squad. Due to the low amount of girls that showed up for the 2 day practice sessions all the future 5th grade girls made the squad and didn't have to actually try out.
Cheerleading will run June/July - October with practices throughout the week and games on the weekends. She's super excited!

Where do I start?
As I look around the house I can't help but ask myself multiple times......"Where do I start?" I've moved numerous times, but never with 5 children in tow. The last time we moved Brennan was just over a year and I was newly pregnant with Karis. I've gotten numerous answer to my above question, but at this point I think it is just starting to really set in.
The inspection on the house is Monday. We're going to have someone come out at the same time and take a look at the pool deck and see what needs to be done to make it as safe as we can. A taller fence around the top of the deck and a new gate with an adult accessible only lock is top on the list.
I have no doubt that the next few weeks are going to fly by. We've got all the end of school activities going on and Kolin's busy season at work is just kicking in. It's going to be an absolute whirlwind.

Beautiful Day!
Mid 70's and the sun was shining for a good portion of the day. I helped out at the preschool's cookout and the kids played outside at a friends house after bowling for a good part of the day. Being able to send the kids outside to play and run off some excess energy is always a great thing!

And here comes #8!
We're at 8 teeth and counting!
Miss Ryanne is just a tad whiney (but who can blame her) and she's drolling like crazy....but we've decided to keep her. =)

WOO-HOO!!!!!
We've got a house!
After playing the countering game a couple of times the sellers finally agreed to the price we gave them.
Kolin and I are so excited. The kids know, but aren't too excited at this point. As the boxes get packed and the closing date gets closer I know the excitement from all of us will be a tad overwhelming.

Now we wait.....
Today we walked through the house we really like (again) and made an offer. An actual offer.
OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!!!
Now we wait for the counter offer and play that game.

Kolin, there are grave markers in the yard!
Kolin, Karis and I went and toured a house this morning. As soon as I pulled up and parked at the curb I noticed the above grave markers. I just started shaking my head. I asked Kolin to go check them out. I was 'hoping' that they would be Fred the cat and Barney the dog.....but No.
These grave markers are real. They actually have names, death dates, etc on them. They are OLD......1800's OLD. However, the realtor has no clue what was up with them and after talking to the owner later that day he still doesn't really have any answers. Supposedly the markers have been there for quite some time and no new owners of the house have ever removed them. I don't know about anyone else, but I definitely wouldn't be able to sleep in the house with grave markers in my yard......
We're going to attempt
to leave town today. The kids have bowling this morning and then Kolin and I are meeting with the realtor to check out a couple of houses. If all goes well we'll be on the road before 3pm.

Not so fun spring break...thus far anyway
I've only left the house for 1 hour since Sunday night. I'm going stir crazy and the kids are too.
Karis picked up some type of nasty stomach bug....she's recovering and I'm hoping no one else gets it. Brennan and Karis have pink eye...Having never dealt with pink eye before I've got to say I hope we never do again.
We have plans to go out of town this weekend. The hotel room is booked and the kids are super excited. I'm just hoping that everyone feels great and we don't have to cancel our plans.

I found Tooth #7
Tooth #7 is just about ready to break through the surface. No wonder she's been chewing on her fingers, burp cloths and everything else the last couple of days.

Snow!
It's April 5th and what's it doing outside? SNOWING! We've got quite the covering already on the grass and vehicles.
What a spring break we're starting to have!

House Hunting
We spent a good portion of Saturday afternoon while Brennan was at a birthday party and the girls were at the sitters checking out houses in the area.
We've been looking at listings for the last 3 months or so. Most of the houses in our area are much smaller than what we need. We've got a large family that needs lots of room.
The first house we looked at was really nice, but no basement and thus really no storage to think of. It was electrical issues as well that would have to be fixed. The backyard was decent sized and the bedrooms were nice and big.
The second house was HUGE, but needed a decent amount of work done to it. It had a great entry way with 2 different sets of stairs to get to the second floor. The attic was completely remodeled, but the stairs were super steep and that freaked me out quite a bit. The bedrooms were rather small too. The basement was disgusting.
The third house is very nice. Large backyard with multiple decks. A fenced in pool with deck around it that has been maintained. What could be 5 bedrooms and it's close to the middle school where Jadyn will be for the next 4 years. 2.75 bathrooms is always a great thing and the basement makes for a great play room & rec room with plenty of storage.
I looked around more today for other houses in the area. There just isn't much out there for our family size that doesn't cost an absolute fortune.

We're Approved!
Kolin and I got the call we've been waiting all week for. We've been approved to buy our first house!
We're so excited and can't wait to go house hunting tomorrow afternoon. We've been checking out different listings and putting together our must have list....we must have 4 bedrooms, storage and enough room that the 7 of us won't be stepping on each other just trying to get from room to room.

No glasses.....yet
Brennan did really well at his eye appt. He was so incredibly nervous though and almost started crying a couple of times. He did great though and answered all the questions the dr. had for him.
At some point the dr. is certain that he'll need glasses, but for now we're just going to take the wait and see approach. Unless his kindergarten teacher says anything or we noticed something, Brennan doesn't have to go back until the summer before 1st grade. =)

Will they pop them out?
Brennan reminded me this morning that he has had his 3 kindergarten shots and that he doesn't need anymore.
He then reminded me that he has to go to the eye doctor and the dentist. I told him he'd see the dentist in July and would see the eye doctor tomorrow morning.
Brennan: What is the eye doctor going to do?
Me: He is going to look at your eyes.
Brennan: Is he going to take my eye out?
Me: No, they are just going to look at your eyes with some different lights.
Brennan: Are you SURE he won't pop out my eyeballs?
Me: Yes Brennan, I'm sure
