Ryanne Ella Claire is here!

Ryanne arrived at 4:13am this morning. She weighed in a 8lbs 7oz and is 21 inches long. Once we get home I'll post more pics and hopefully our birth story.

She's already got her mommy, daddy, sisters and brother wrapped around her finger.

I think...

we have everything ready for baby. Hospital bag is packed except for those few little things that need to get thrown in as we're walking out the door. Camera battery is charged, camera is ready as is the CF card. Carseat, wipes, diapers, bottles, formula, etc are all ready.

We're just waiting on baby.....that's NOT the easy part.

38 weeks and counting...

It's been a while since pictures we taken. Not for lack of wanting...just a simple memory lapse.

2 more weeks to go!

First day of school!

We were all up early this morning....at least everyone was in a good mood. Jadyn was slightly nervous and Taryn was a little bouncing ball she was sooooo excited. They both swtiched schools this year so it's a new experience for both of them. I still can't believe that Jadyn is in 4th grade and Taryn is in 2nd.

Sweet little girl

I compromised

Jadyn and Taryn got their finger and toenails painted a couple of weeks ago at camp. Since then Brennan has wanted his done. I compromised with him and decided we could do his toes.

The Bink Link

http://www.binklink.com

I saw the 'candy necklace' bink link on another blog I read and just have to have one for our new baby girl. Of course I had to search for the best price with shipping before hand....that's just how I work.

School starts

in 3 days for Jadyn and Taryn.

This summer has just flown by for us. I think for the most part everything is ready. They found out who their teachers and classmates are Friday afternoon. I've got a couple of things that still need names written on them, but other than that we're set.

I'm sure the next couple of weeks are going to be crazy around here. It usually takes about a month for everyone to settle down and get into a good routine. Brennan will start school on 9/3 so we'll contend with that as well. Karis will continue going to her playgroup on Tuesday mornings. Once she ages out of the program we'll more than likely put her into the Tuesday/Thursday preschool class at Brennan's school. She needs the social interaction with other kids and adults to keep her going in the right direction.

Then of course we're adding a new baby girl into the mix.....

Playing with backdrops

How would you pronouce this gaelic name?

Caoilfhionn

We were visiting some friends back in March. We started talking about baby names and Jessica asked how we'd pronouced Caoilfhionn after writing it down. Of course Kolin and I didn't have a clue.

Jessica said that last Christmas she was helping to do a fundraiser. She was in charge of writing names on ornaments. A set of grandparents took their time figuring out which ornament to choose and finally found one they liked. Jessica then asks what name they want on the ornament.

They tell her Keelyn and then Jessica asked them to spell it. C-a-o-i-l-f-h-i-o-n-n....She got to the first 'i' and asked the grandparents if they were joking. They told her that they wished they were. Their daughter wanted a gaelic name with original spelling for their grand daughter and that's what she came up with.

Just incase you are wondering....this is NOT the name or spelling of mystery baby....

Mystery Baby

This is what Taryn affectionately calls her baby sister since Kolin and I refuse to tell them the babys name.

I can do this for another 21 days...right? Ok, maybe I'll just try a week at a time and we'll see how it goes from there.

Weight is pretty much the same. Blood sugars are behaving themselves. Just remind me NOT to run out of peanut butter or eat pineapple. Running out of peanut butter makes me have to eat something else for breakfast. A very small bowl of corn chex and milk obviously doesn't work.

Mystery baby is still a little high, but most of mine still were at this point. Her hb was 148. The girls loved hearing the whooshing sound, especially Jadyn. Cervix is still closed, but super super soft. At least we're making so sort of headway. I keep telling mystery baby that being early would be a great present for her mommy.

Our next appt is next week and hopefully we'll have more progress.

Peanut Butter....

I've never really liked peanut butter. Every once in a while I might get the urge to have some, but for the most part I left it to those little ones that like peanut butter and Kolin.

Since being diagnosed with gestational diabetes it's become one of my many staples. I ran out yesterday and didn't make it to the store. Kolin offered to go out and get me some more, but I told him it would be alright. I should have had him go. LOL

Today after dropping Karis off at her playgroup, the older 3 and I went and did a little grocery shopping. I ended up buying a bigger cantainer this time around.

Now to see how long it lasts.

Brennan probably

won't be too happy to see this picture (his daddy took it) when he's older.....

Confused Kitty

Morocco doesn't know what to think about the new washer. He's been in the bathroom watching the clothes go around for the last 15 minutes or so. He'll creep up, cock his head to one side, move back a little and then creep back up. He even let me take a couple of pics of him.

Mindless Entertainment

Who would have thought watching clothes spin round and round would be so much fun? If only I had known about this years ago....

Talking Talking Talking

Karis that is.

In the last few weeks she's actually been having conversations with me about different things. It's soooo neat to listen to her. If you ask a question and the answer is Yes! You get a yes from her...it's usually drawn out a bit and it makes me smile. No Yeah's or Yep's from this little girl.

Right now she's in the hallway telling Brennan and Taryn that they need a time out!

How often do you clean

behind your washer and dryer?

We're having a new washer and dryer set delivered tomorrow morning. After having a repair man out twice to check it out, the washer croaked for good and it was time to look for something new.

After checking out the scratch and dent items that just came in on a truck, I still can't figure out where the washer is scratched or dented. I came home and looked up some reviews and prices on the 2 sets I was most interested in. Finally having to go with choice #2 because the reviews for choice #1 were AWFUL!

I'm still quite happy with my front loader choice and can't wait to have them both set up. The amount of water the washer uses is just amazing....no more water going to waste.

I think we're done

with school shopping for now.

School supplies, new shoes and the first day of school outfit have all been bought. We'll do the major clothes shopping when the weather cools down a bit and they won't be wearing shorts to school almost everyday. No sense in buying jeans and the like since they won't be worn and they will more than likely grow out of the new ones without actually wearing them.

This summer has flown by for the most part....with only a few days dragging here and there. The girls really enjoyed the day camp they went too this summer. IT was definitely a great experience for them. We're already talking about going back next year and Mr. B will be able to go too since he'll be entering Kindergarten....oh my goodness I can't believe I just types that. THUD!

10 more days and the girls are back in school. Wow!

Registered!

I registered Jadyn and Taryn this morning. I still can't believe that they are going to be in 4th and 2nd grade already. Everything is now taken care of, we know which buses they need to take in order to get home (and to school occasionally), fees have been paid, medical paperwork for Taryn....all that fun stuff.

Next Friday we'll find out who their teachers are. We requested Taryn's teacher so we know who she should have and Jadyn's will be a surprise.

The 20th is their actually first day. It's only a 1/2 day, but still enough going on to get them acquainted with their new teacher, classmates and room.

Brennan's Ready!

Today was Brennan's open house at preschool school. He got his backpack together and was all set to stay a couple of hours, instead I told him the backpack needed to stay home. However, it was a day to pick up some paperwork, check out the classroom and meet some kids that were going to be in his class when school starts in a couple of weeks.

He's super excited and can't wait to start! Hard to imagine that next fall he'll be in Kindergarten.

Waiting....

8/8/08

I keep telling Kolin that I think 8/8/08 would be a pretty neat birthday to have. Of course I seriously doubt that we'll have a baby that day, but it would be pretty cool.

Should be an interesting appt.

Tonight I realized that my dr's. appt next week is right before the girls need to be at the dentist. I had intentions of leaving all four munchkins with a friend while at my appt. Now Brennan and Karis will be staying and Jadyn and Taryn will be going to my appt with me.

I'm sure the girls will love hearing the babies heartbeat. However, I'm really not looking forward to all the questions I'm going to get when it comes time for mommy to get checked for progress. EEK!

35 weeks 6 days

Same ole, same ole for the most part. Cervix is closed, but soft....at least the darn thing is doing something. Hopefully next week we'll have a little more progress in the right direction. Baby is head down which is a great thing..now if I could only get her to move out of her favorite place (my right side) and find somewhere else to snuggle.

I've had a decent amount of swelling. My blood pressure is great so the heat and humidity are completely to blame. Not much I can do expect drink even more water (feeling like a camel), keep my feet and hands elevated and stay indoors with the a/c on days when it's really hot out.

Not much longer and our little girl will be here...though at the moment it seems like the next 4 weeks is as long as 4 months.

"I'm The Baby!"

Kolin and I got the infant seat cleaned up today. We walked into another room and came back to find the following:

The entire time she was telling Kolin and I "I'm the baby." I guess it's a good thing she's decided that we are allowed to keep her baby sister.

Cramped!

The Expedition is officially packed to capacity!

Today, Kolin and I decided that we really should put the base to the babies carseat in the car. That went in really easily and what makes it nice is that the middle seat can be pushed up closer to the front so we can reach her easier.

However we had to play the carseat switcharoo game. Brennnan is now in the 3rd row with Jadyn and Taryn. Karis is on the passenger side instead of the driver side. I really wish we were able to take the other seat completely out. It would just make getting in and out a lot easier.

I'm not sure how well this arrangement is going to work. At this point a 12 passenger van is looking really nice!

Procrastination Station

I still haven't order the baby's quilt yet. With the older 4 I had the quilts ordered between 12-16 weeks. This time around it took a little longer to figure out what we wanted. I made the phone call just a little bit ago and left a message. At least that's something....right?

We've decided on a rainforest theme this time around...hopefully with some monkeys, parrots and other assorted fun stuff mixed in.

I can't wait to see what she comes up with this time around.

UPDATE: The quilt has been ordered! We should have it shortly after the baby is due. We also asked about getting a new quilt for our bed. Carol made us a quilt for our wedding and we are thinking of getting a new one for our 10th anniversary in October.
